1. How can we encourage bedside nurses to take the effort to learn the latest concept and theories of nursing practice?
As an educator, one way that I encourage students to learn nursing theory and enhance critical thinking is through interactive games. I assign each group of students a theorist and a patient case study. The job for that session is to study that theorist and apply the concepts of that theory to the care of their patient. I give each group a large sheet of paper and access to all of my craft supplies. The students will use these supplies to create a concept map that applies the theory to the case study. Each group presents their case study to the class. I try to make learning theories fun and less painful.
