This assignment is designed to get you to interact with somebody from another culture to find out more about particular cultural practices such as marriage ceremonies, work ethic, conflict management, issues related to healthcare, child care, recreation activities etc. In this assignment you are required to conduct an interview and share your findings with the class through a multi-media power point presentation. Below are the details of the assignment: First, identify someone who has a different cultural background than you. This could be your co-worker, neighbor, friend etc. Note: make sure to use pseudo names, not the actual names of those you interview. Get a general sense of his/her cultural background- history, practices etc. Choose one topic or cultural practice that is of most interest to you and find out more about it through your interview. six (6) page paper that address the following points. Give a general background of the culture (Geographical location, history, social structure etc.) Identify and discuss three (3) intercultural communication concepts that you identified in your interview. What are the differences and similarities between your cultures? How will your knowledge of the other culture help you to develop intercultural communication competence?
